Mrs. Rachel V. Garza
Mrs. Rachel V. Garza is the Director of Robert Vela Early College High School. Mrs. Garza has over twenty years of experience in public education, all of which have been with Edinburg C.I.S.D. Since RVHS opened its doors in 2012, Mrs. Garza served as ELA Department Head and enjoyed teaching Advanced Placement Literature & Composition and Dual Enrollment courses. She is a former campus Teacher of the Year, as well as a former E.C.I.S.D. Secondary Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Garza received both her undergraduate degree and master’s degree from The University of Texas-Pan American.
Mrs. Marisela S. Cavazos
Mrs. Marisela S. Cavazos is a Robert Vela Early College High School counselor. Mrs. Cavazos has 23 years in education all of which have been at E.C.I.S.D., serving as an elementary teacher for 3 years and 20 years as a counselor at the elementary and high school level. Mrs. Marisela S. Cavazos received both her undergraduate degree and graduate degree from the University of Texas-Pan American.
Mrs. Courtney Cavazos
Ms. Courtney Trejo is a Robert Vela Early College High School counselor. Ms. Trejo has 8 years of experience as an educator at E.C.I.S.D., serving as a middle school ELA teacher for 4 years and 2 years as a GEAR UP Facilitator. Ms. Trejo received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas-Pan American and graduate degree from Texas A&M University-College Station.
